An average teen verses an inspired one

Why do all teenagers dress the same?

Ok so a thought that crossed my mind this morning when I saw both a girl and a boy wearing the same Abercrombie T-Shirt on the same street .Why do all teenagers dress the same? Because of peer pressure to wear the same labels across their chest ? There are the Superdry's , Abercrombie and Jack Wills's but really they don't have their own real fashion identity. Lots of teens dress like their friends to be part of the gang perhaps or maybe they actually choose to look like that !

This is what I love about Topshop and shops that have individual quirkiness about them because they don't just say "Abercrombie" across the front ,instead it has a design that has to be thought about , what it means and who on earth would wear it.These designs have textures, different materials and layers compared to the plain cotton t-shirts from Abercrombie with one word written across it.

For example on random occasions I wear lemons on my head and people on the street give me strange looks but underneath my massive heart sunglasses I'm giving them stranger looks cause they all look the same , which I find a bit odd to be honest. Even in  the winter girls wear shorts. They wear shorts with tights and Uggs but seriously I really don't understand why people would wear SHORTS when its SNOWING outside !

People I admire for their dress sense look completely different to anyone else on the street.I admire people who lift my mood when I see their clothes or make me think 'that should be in an art gallery'. I like to look different and have an identity on the outside as well as the inside.

I think people of our generation should address this otherwise we might all end up wearing the same thing for the rest of our lives which would be wrong as well as weirdly strange.

I want to change the way people think about fashion , instead of a way to just be comfy or 'in' with the labels .I think we should think about fashion as a way to show your identity and your imagination. I am not saying we should all look like clowns but I really think that we should use our imaginations more as really we are going nowhere as apart from school, we text ,play games on the Internet , and socialise so much on the Internet our eyes are very likely to pop out !" And lets face it we have some wildly creative designers out there that influence many things but teenagers really aren't one of them unfortunately.

So slowly i think we should change the way teenagers think about fashion.Intead of  'in with the designers' creative, thought about designs that people look at and go wow where did you get that.

Solar powered clothing + my favourite winter styles

So my favourite stylist of all time has to be Nicola Formittci who is the stylist of Lady Gaga , and is due to start his own New York based brand in 2013 which will feature solar powered clothing to charge your phone! If anybody has one I'm jealous. I recently had to live without my Blackberry for 10 days and that made me realise how much I rely on it ! I really think that these accessories/clothes will be a revolution ! Even though solar powered bags exist they are in early stages and aren't fashion bags just solar powered with virtually no focus on the BAG bit.

For the winter I am loving the 60's look.Check out Alexa Chung's peter pan collar .(on the right)

I also love the baroque look ( I have posted about this about this look in my fall fashion forecast ).Dolce Gabbana have done a lot of this type of design this year.Tops include softer, ornate swirls and I have a very strong liking for the whole look.(below)

(The goth look has caught my eye this season as bomber jackets are everywhere , In the shops , on the street and on the celebrities .I am totally in love with all the studded leather this season particularly jackets and shoes.Jackets from TOPSHOP are particularly cool and shoes from OFFICE.(below)

Military ,particularly khaki green is very "in" and "in" my wardrobe !
Also very in is the peplum dress or skirt which also gives a fabulous shape. So why not combine the two with this dress below from Topshop. It also enhances a curvacious figure so perfect if u have a staight up and down shape.(left)

My visit to Kensington Palace to see Princess Diana's Dresses and their designs

Today I went to St Pancras station. It turns out it has alot of very nice shops but that wasn't the reason for me going. I had lunch in the Carluccios there and then headed off to Kensington Palace, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge currently live. Also where Prince Harry is supposedly "keeping a low profile from the press".

While I was visiting the Palace I saw many of Princess Diana's dresses and designs for the dresses on paper. I found it highly interesting. I also came across many diamond and precious jewel encrusted outfits from many centurys of royals ago . Princess Diana wore many different outfits by known designers such as Versace and others not so known but equally as imaginative.

The dresses include a black silk taffeta gown worn by Diana on her first official engagement with the Prince of Wales on March 9 1981, and a black silk shift evening dress by Versace, which she wore to the 1995 premiere of Apollo 13.An ivory silk formal dinner dress, a fuchsia and purple silk chiffon sari dress and a black and white cocktail dress complete the set.My favourite is the black dress above because of its sheer simplicity and the curvacious body.
